Student Councils

The school has two student councils, one each for the Middle and Senior Programmes.

The Senior Programme’s Student Council is elected each year by the students. Through it, students involve themselves in the affairs of the school, working in partnership with the school management and staff for the benefit of the school and students. HXLS believes in living democratically and that is the essence of the election process of the Student Council. Since its inception, the council has not only worked towards the betterment of the relationship between the senior students and school but also on improving the internal processes for the election.

Each year students can apply for posts such as President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Cultural Secretary and Sports Secretary in the Student Council. Applicants undergo a rigorous process to succeed.

A Council Advisory oversees the workings of the elected Council, leading to higher transparency and a greater representation of the student voice. General Body Meetings help the Student Council to gain a better understanding of the views and problems faced by the student fraternity.

The Middle Programme council facilitates day-to-day processes for streamlined functioning of the programme and bridges the gap between students and teachers.
